Day 2 - 30 Days of Prayer

Monday, April 24

Monday | April 24, 2017

“All who believed were together and had all things in common; they would sell their property and possessions and divide them among all according to each one’s need.”

 ~ Acts 2:44-46

The scripture verse comes from yesterday’s Mass.  A fellow parishioner once remarked that it “sounds like Communism.”  Perhaps, but what it describes is a people so moved by the generosity of God, that they feel compelled to respond in such a lavish way that they can’t be constrained by economics or politics. That passage also illustrates how aparish works.

For your reflection
Think about other organizations you belong to.  How many allow you to keep your membership indefinitely without paying something or meeting other requirements?St. Pius X Parish functions solely on the free-will offerings of its members.

Can a price be put on the gift of faith, anyway?
