Day 26 - 30 Days of Prayer

Thursday, May 18

Thursday | May 18, 2017

"I then, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to live in a manner worthy of the call you have received, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another through love, striving to preserve the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace.” ~ Ephesians 4:1-3

As his letter indicates, Paul is writing from prison. He will be executed in Rome for teaching people about Jesus Christ. Yet his concern is not about his own well being.  He is worried about factions among Christians.  God has created such diversity, while we prefer everyone to think, dress, and act just like us.

For reflection:
Do I welcome diversity in my parish and community? Can I recognize the giftedness of people who are different or unusual?
