Baptism of the Lord and Coffee & Donuts

MORE DONUTS:  Beginning this weekend after the Sunday Masses, we will be hosting coffee and donuts on a more regular basis.  This will give all of us the opportunity to connect with fellow parishioners.  Come on down and enjoy coffee & donuts; introduce yourself to the people around you so you can get to know more people in our community.

THE ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE is looking for assistance with packing up Christmas trees and decorations for storage on Sunday (1/11).  Once packed up, the containers need to be carried upstairs.  If you are able to given an hour or so, it would be appreciated.  Nancy Benson and members of the environment committee will be looking for you at noon in the gathering area.  Thank you

BLOOD PRESSURE READINGS:  If you haven't had your blood pressure checked in a while, stop by the McDuffee Room after all Masses this weekend.

MIDDLE SCHOOL EDGE will meet in Danner Hall on Sunday (1/11) at 5:30pm.

SUNDAY NIGHT LIVE will meet in the Youth Room at 7pm on Sunday (1/11).

ST. PIUS X NEXT WEEK (Jan. 12 - 16)

Morning or Evening Prayer will be celebrated in place of daily Mass this week as Father Chris is away.
Daily Mass times for Holy Redeemer Parish in Jension are:
Tuesday, Thursday ~ 8:45am and on Wednesday ~ 6:30pm

JOY OF THE GOSPEL BOOK STUDY:  Wednesday (1/14) at 7pm in McDuffee.

CONFIRMATION RETREAT ~ Jan. 17-18:  Next weekend our Confirmation candidates will be on retreat at St. Pius X.  Retreat begins at 9am on Saturday and ends at 9am on Sunday. Permission slips and sponsor sheets are due!  Sponsors need to be at St. Pius X by 4:30pm and will attend the 5:30pm Mass on Saturday with their candidates.  Abacus will be providing us with their music at the 5:30pm Mass next weekend.  Adoration and Praise and Worship Music will follow.


CROSSROADS CATECHETICAL DAY: Saturday, Jan. 31 from 8am-3:30pm at Holy Redeemer Parish.  Registration packets are available online or Contact Elizabeth Pung at 538-2600 or epung@spxcatholic.org.

WINTER BLAST 2015:  This year's Winter Blast will take the parish Around the World on Friday, Feb. 6.  The blast is an opportunity to come together and celebrate as a parish.  We'll have a DJ, drinks, and food.  Festivities start at 7pm in Danner Hall.  If you're registered at the parish and 21 or older...look for your invitation soon.

CATHOLIC RENEWAL SERIES:  Have you been away from the Catholic Church for some time and would like a refresher on some of the Church's beliefs and practices? Are you a Catholic who feels alienated, hurt, or confused?  If so, you are invited to join us for a five-week "renewal" course.  This will be a time to listen and learn about topics, ask questions, clear up misconceptions and hurts, and deepen your faith and identity as a Catholic.  We will meet 6:30-8:30pm beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 20-Feb. 17.  Contact Marjorie Flores at 532-9344 or seeker@spxcatholic.org.

ELEMENTARY CATECHIST NEEDED:  4th Grade on Wednesday 4pm:  We are in need of someone who would be willing to teach Wednesdays from 4-5:30pm.  Catechist manuals and lesson plans are provided in addition to assistance where needed.  Please contact Elizabeth Pung at epung@spxcatholic.org if this is something you'd be interested in.
