Stations of the Cross  | Coffee & Donuts

Fridays ~ 7pm
This Friday our Middle Schoolers will be leading the Stations of the Cross and also participating in a 24-hour fast for a cure for cancer.  The fast will kick off Friday, March 20, with the start of stations and continue through the 5:30pm on Saturday.  After Mass, they'll enjoy a simple meal and discussion together.  We invite all parishioners to join us in our prayer and fasting this weekend for a cure for cancer.
Join us for coffee & donuts after the Sunday Masses in Danner Hall. While you're there, check out the table cards and strike up a conversation with someone new.

50+FRIDAY BREAKFAST:  Russ' in Grandville at 9:30am on Friday (3/20)
HIGH SCHOOL RETREAT:  Pray for all those attending the high school retreat this weekend at Gull Lake.  They begin on Friday at 5pm and end at 1pm on Sunday.
BAPTISM PREPARATION CLASS:  Sunday (3/22) at 1pm in McDuffee.  Call to register by noon on Friday at 532-9344.
MS EDGE:  Sunday (3/22) at 5:30pm in Danner Hall. Theme is social media and our guest speaker will be T.J. Burdick
CATHOLIC HEART WORKCAMP FUNDRAISERS UPDATE:  Our teens need your help to get to Nashville, TN and Farmington Hills, MI.  Stop by the Formation Office to buy-a-mile or purchase spiritual stock.  All fundraisers help to offset the cost of camp:

BUY-A-MILE:  454 of 1,342 miles (34% of our goal) have been sponsored to date.  It costs $1 per mile.
SPIRITUAL STOCK:  The team has sold 250 of 375 (67%) of the stocks available for purchase.  Stock can be purchased for $20 a share.  There will be a banquet dinner in the summer after the teens return from their trip for all investors.  

THIS LENT, pray for our elect and candidates who will join the Catholic Church by celebrating the Sacraments of Initiation this Easter.  Please pick up one or several prayer cards from the back of church to remember them in prayer.
EASTER IS ONLY 2 WEEKS AWAY:  Please keep the food pantry in mind when shopping for your Easter dinner.  They are in need of canned fruit, canned pasta, rice, and candy for Easter Baskets.  Special dates to remember at the Pantry:
March 31...filling Easter Baskets at 1pm
April 2...packing food baskets at 1pm
April 3...delivering of food baskets at 9:30am to St. Joseph's (driver needed).
To share some of our good fortune during Lent, we will be asking people to donate craft supplies.  The children in our formation classes will be praying for the children of Haiti, decorating cards, and sending craft bags to Haiti.  We ask that all items be donated by March 22, as we will be filling bags on March 24 at 6pm in Danner Hall.

FILL THE BUS WITH CANS! In April, we will host a pop can-drive to fill the bus with returnable cans!  This is an effort to raise money to support the purchase of a home for Sr. Luvia and her children in Haiti.  We will be collecting cans on Sunday, April 26...so start saving now!

SHINE NEXT LEVEL HIGH SCHOOL RALLY at 3 Mile Project on March 29 from 3:30-7:30pm, featuring Jackie Francois.  This will include icebreakers, music, keynote and Adoration.  Permission slips are needed and are on the website.
YOUNG ADULTS:  Our next meetings will be March 30, April 13, and April 20.  We meet at 8pm in the lower level of the parish.  Email epung@spxcatholic.org for more information.
ATTENTION GOLFERS:  There will be a meeting of the St. Pius X Golf League on Monday, April 6 at 7pm in the McDuffee Room.  If anyone is interested, please attend the meeting or call John Merryweather (616-403-6128).  The league will start play on Monday, April 27 and run through Aug. 24.
PARISH BREAKFAST:  Come celebrate the Easter Season and building community at our spring breakfast on April 12.  All are welcome to attend after the Sunday Masses.

MINISTERS OF COMMUNION are needed to serve at local nursing homes. Training will be provided for new ministers; please contact Marjorie Flores at 532-9344 x106 or mflores@spxcatholic.org.

 Rose Garden the first and second Sundays of the month. 

FUNERAL FOOD DONATION CALLER is needed to make calls when St. Pius X has a funeral.  Must have a flexible schedule and can make calls on short notice.  Contact Marjorie Flores at 532-9344 or mflores@spxcatholic.org to find out more information on this important ministry.
EASTER RECEPTION HELPERS NEEDED:  We are looking for parishioners willing to help with the Easter Reception for those welcomed into the Church during the Easter Vigil on April 4.  We'd need help during the day with food prep and set up.  Then help following the Vigil with hosting and cleaning up.  It will be a late night, but such a gift to those new to the Catholic Church.  If interested, contact Andy Rebollar at arebollar@spxcatholic.org or call 532-9344.
EASTER VIGIL RECEPTION...FOOD NEEDED:  We are looking for salads, sides, and finger foods for the Easter Reception for our newest members of the Church following the Easter Vigil on April 4.  It's a great way to show your support for the newly initiated; you don't need to attend the Vigil to help out.  If interested, contact Andy Rebollar at 532-9344 or arebollar@spxcatholic.org.
